I wrote and recorded Letting Go and Leaving Be during a period where I was making music in between bouts of depression and despair that I had no business bothering with music in the first place.

In the second verse section of the song, the melody breaks, like wanting to say something, but the emotional weight of what’s being said crushing the effort. One of the most intimate performances I've recorded is easily missed. The magic of it lies in its spontaneity and authenticity, without veering off track to the point of needing a cleaner take.

This is one of the tracks with enough of my vision intact to warrant its inclusion in the first part of the process of finding my way back to my breath and a way of being that sustains me.
